Visual Communications = COMPLETE! :)

Today I had a seminar where we were given a talk about a possibilty of a new module on my course, called Youth and Community work. I found this talk very interesting and believe that it would be good to experience something of the kind, as if things don't work out with the PGCE then I will have some experience with another area of working with people that I am interested in.
After the seminar I took a trip to town to get a few essentials and came home to finish the last few things off for my visual communications project. I have to admitt I have quite enjoyed working on something different for a change and I am very pleased with my final outcome. Lets hope all the work pays off...

Busy, busy, busy!

Yesterday morning I was glad to head back to Swansea. I spent most of the day doing uni work and finishing off my visual communications portfolio. I have enjoyed using different materials and exploring different things, even though I don't have a natural artistic ability I have tried to work around it. I have also found it difficult to try and incoporate ICT into my portfolio but I have tried to do what I can. After working for most of the day, in the evening the girls on my floor ordered a well deserved chinese which was lovely! We all sat and chilled then before bed and not all much happened after that :)

time for bed..

These past couple of days haven't been very exciting. Today I was up early again for a driving lesson at 10. I came back and got on with some uni work untill my Nan and Grandad came over to visit. The rest of the day was spent sorting my washing out, ironing and getting my things together, ready to set off to Swansea in the morning. Right now I am absolutely knackered so going to get ready for bed! Bright and early start again tomorrow..

yesterday..

Yesterday I woke up pretty early to get on with some uni work. I then had work at 3:45 and was expecting to finish by 6, however we had to stay on to change the room around for the evening wedding party. I ended up finishing at 8:15 and was supposed to be picked up from home at 8 to meet some friends at our local pub. As I was late and didn't have chance to go home I had to turn up in my works uniform so I wan't very impressed! I had a good catch up with certain people that I had'nt seen for a while and I didn't get in untill about 11:30. That were the events of the day, not a lot happened.

off home again..

Today hasn't been very eventful, it was an early start with lectures at 9! Lectures finished at 1:15 and I had to leave to head home at 3:30 so I gave my room it's weekly clean before I left. It only takes about an hour to get home to Cwmbran but the weeks go so fast and it seems like yesterday that I was only heading back to uni. It neither feels like I live in halls or at home as I am back and forth every week to keep my job going. I love being in uni and going home to see everyone and to keep the money coming in but I wish that I didn't have to pack my things up every couple of days. I am looking forward to staying in uni after next weekend for a few weeks so that I can stay settled. Maybe next year will be better when hopefully I will find a job in Swansea as I can then go home every so often and not every single week. I suppose I am lucky that I don't live to far away and can go home when I like :)

A nervous start to the day..

This morning I woke up feeling nervous as I had an individual Maths presentation this morning. While I was waiting for my turn I was feeling a little anxious as I wanted to get mine over and done with. Once I was up there I felt that it could have gone worse, but could had gone a lot better if I hadn't been so nervous and took my time. After I had finished I felt so relieved that it was out of the way. Me and the girls then headed to town, excited for the opening of the new H&M store. I spent a little too much money so will not be heading to town any time soon! On the way back we went to the polling station and I placed my first vote which was interesting as I wasn't too sure who to choose. Just waiting to find out the results at midnight, lets hope the best party wins!

Wednesday, 10 March 2010

This week hasn't been very eventful so far, running out of money has left me not being able to do things. However on Monday it was a lush day and a couple of the girls sat out in the garden drinking cocktails and then took a walk in to town. On Tuesday evening a few of us went over the bar, played Irish snap and went back to watch gossip girl. Tonight is probably one of the first Wednesdays i wont be going out but I'm looking forward to going swimming tomorrow with a few friends from school! :)

This week so far hasn't been very exciting, I worked all weekend again and came back to Uni Monday morning. It was a lovely day so i met my friend Sian in town and the went to get a Joe's ice cream :) in the evening then i watched the Eastenders omnibus with Charl. Yesterday it was another nice day so was a shame we had lectures, we went over the bar in the evening but came back early because it was packed. I'm looking forward to going out for my friend Jess' birthday tonight firstly to Nandos and then on to Wind street! :)

The events of my past week..

Overall I've had a fairly good week. I attended the lock and key event in Oceana and was amazed that I actually found my key!! Wednesday I met up with one of my friends from Swansea Uni at the cinema to watch Valentines Day. I went home on the weekend and met up with a few of my friends in Tiffins and then went onto weatherspoons. It was really nice to catch up with everyone and to see one of my friends from Manchester Uni which i hadn't seen since Christmas. Saturday and Sunday were very busy days as I worked for the majority so was shattered coming back to uni Sunday evening, it barely felt like I had been home. O and how could i forget pancake day mmm :)

A little about me..

I'm Vicky, 18 and currently living in Swansea, studying Educational Studies at Swansea Met.
I am really enjoying the whole Uni experience; meeting new people, living in halls, becoming independent and i suppose the work isn't too bad! I love shopping, night's out, general socialising and i couldn't ask for a better group of friends. I can't wait for the summer to arrive and to actually have some sun and i'm especially looking forward to moving into a house with the girls next year :)
